Synopsis of Oh! My Lady Korean Drama

This Korean drama is about a spunky 35-year-old housewife, Yoon Gae Hwa, takes on the job of manager to prickly top star Sung Min Woo in order to earn enough money to regain custody of her child from her ex-husband. Romantic hijinks and hilarity ensues when they find themselves in an awkward living situation.

The Case of Itaewon Homicide

The DVD publications rights for Hallyu star Jang Geun-seok’s film “The Case of Itaewon Homicide” have been sold to Japan, according to his agency Tree J. Company on Wednesday.

Tree J. explained in a press release that DVD rights for “The Case of Itaewon Homicide” has been sold to Japanese importer C.C.C., who also purchased the local broadcasting rights for Jang’s recent TV series “You’re Beautiful”.

The hit SBS TV series, which premiered in Japan last month, is currently airing on KNTV during prime time.

“With “You’re Beautiful” doing so much better than we expected, I think there is a growing interest in actor Jang Geun-seok”, an official at Tree J. was quoted as saying. “This will be a good opportunity to show Jang as a movie star”.

“The Case of Itaewon Homicide”, released in Korea last September, is based on an actual murder which occurred at a Burger King store in Seoul’s Itaewon district in 1997.

In the film, Jang plays a Korean-American named Pearson who was suspected of stabbing a Korean man with a jackknife.

Jang, 23, has appeared in several notable television dramas including “Beethoven Virus” (MBC, 2008), “Hong Gil Dong” (KBS2, 2008) and popular sitcom “Nonstop 4″ (MBC, 2003).

He became a phenomenon in Korea and throughout Asia after starring in Korean drama “You’re Beautiful”, in which he portrayed an eccentric lead singer of idol group A.N.JELL.

The actor is currently holding fan meetings in various Asian countries.

Synopsis

Korean actor Lee Min-ho has warned fans of a fake Twitter account opened up under his name, according to his agency Starhaus Entertainment.

“What people currently know as Lee Min-ho’s Twitter is a fake account”, said an official at Starhaus on Friday, adding that they are preparing countermeasures to protect the actor’s fans.

Lee currently has about 70,000 followers under his account — more than any other Korean celebrity in the country.

An account can be opened with just an email address and ID on Twitter, a popular U.S.-based online social networking and microblogging service.

Many other overseas and Korean stars including pop groups Girls’ Generation and singer Son Dam-bi have reportedly been taken advantage of by people who opened up accounts in their names.

Lee, 22, shot to stardom throughout Asia after starring in the smash hit Korean TV series “Boys over Flowers” last year alongside actress Koo Hye-seon and idol group member Kim Hyun-joong of SS501.

He is scheduled to appear in upcoming MBC TV series “Personal Taste”, which premieres on March 31, opposite actress Son Ye-jin.

Lee Seung-gi New Drama

Korean singer and actor Lee Seung-gi will be making a comeback to the small screen in a new TV series, his first since starring in the smash hit Korean drama “Shining Inheritance” last year.

According to a source related to the new show tentatively titled in English “My Girlfriend is a Fox with Nine Tails”, Lee recently decided to appear in the series and is in final stages of negotiations.

“My Girlfriend is a Fox with Nine Tails” is written by Hong Jeong-eun and Hong Mi-ran, a sister writing duo also known as ‘The Hong Sisters’ who previously penned dramas “You’re Beautiful” (SBS, 2009) and “Hong Gil Dong” (KBS2, 2008).

“Lee himself was very interested and wanted to appear in a series written by the Hong Sisters”, another source related to the drama was quoted as saying. “And from what I know, the Hong Sisters also thought that Lee would be a good fit to play the male lead”.

The singer has been cast as the main male character who is terrified at first of the fox but eventually falls in love with her. The female lead actress has not been cast as of yet.

Lee, 23, debuted as a singer after being discovered and trained for two years by one of Korea’s top female vocalists Lee Sun-hee. The popularity of his first single “Because You’re My Girl”, from debut album “The Dream of a Moth” released in 2004, turned the then-17-year-old into an overnight sensation especially among older female fans.

He crossed over to acting in 2005 in a guest role for MBC sitcom “Nonstop 5″ and made his official debut in “Famous Princesses” (KBS2, 2006). But it was his turn in the hugely successful “Inheritance” that solidified his status as an actor — the weekend drama topped the television ratings chart for ten consecutive weeks and peaked with a viewership rating of 47.1 percent.

“My Girlfriend is a Fox with Nine Tails”, which is expected to air this summer, will start shooting around May.
